Seven books in seven days? I don't think so. I don't know about you but I often feel pressurised to read quickly. I feel like I'm plodding along, not covering as much as I should be doing. But where is this pressure coming from? If I'm reading a novel for pleasure, who cares how long it takes? As I'm studying creative writing I look forensically at the way a writer writes which inevitably slows me down. So what?
I sometimes feel attracted to the idea of slow reading. Now, is this a thing already? Deliberately reading slowly and savouring the sentences on the page? I guess if a writer uses poetic language it is more compelling to do this. Even more so with poetry.
I think I feel naturally uncomfortable with seeing reading as a challenge because it would stress me out and I wouldn't get any enjoyment out of it. I sometimes wish I could read very quickly.
Do what comes naturally. If you want to set yourself goals then do it.
