Writing advice from some literary legends

Updated: Aug 31, 2021

Well, maybe not a literary legend - just from me for the moment.

Carry a notebook and pen or dictate ideas into your phone.

Use strong verbs, especially with inanimate objects, vary sentence lengths. Cut what you don't need. Don't use clichés. Introduce movement to keep the story moving along.

OK, this is pretty obvious stuff. And I'm sure it doesn't always apply as rules can be broken.

I'm learning all the time.
